"We Are..."-Vertical Horizon (1999)

Acoustic Rock may go by many different names in many different places; In Southern New England, that name is FlipSide.

FlipSide formed in late 2006, the brainchild of members John Cadarette (acoustic and electric guitars, lead and harmony vocals) and Derek Ventilato (acoustic and bass guitars, lead and harmony vocals).  After spending years with various rock, pop, country, blues, and metal bands, the pair quickly found common musical ground together and have taken their different yet complimentary instrumental and vocal talents and melded them into a finely-tuned unit capable of delivering a wide range of musical styles with a minimum range of instruments.

Their musical selections are culled from nearly 50 years of music history, encompassing and crossing genres with ease and fluidity; from contemporary and classic rock and pop, to traditional and modern country, to jazz-inspired instrumentals and musical comedy... and oh, yes - they also write and perform their own original material.

FlipSide are quickly building a reputation as a good-time alternative to the every-weekend band; we invite you to "Unplug Your Rock" and experience the music you know and enjoy in a much more intimate and accessible way...

If you've allowed your browser to access Windows Media Player (or similar media player on your computer), then you should check your volume control to ensure that you are hearing music right now.

This is the FlipSide Audio Sampler.

The tracks for this demo were recorded in 2007 at the studios of PWOP! Productions in New London, Connecticut.  All of the songs featured on our current Press Kit were recorded, engineered, and produced by our friends Carl and Jay Franklin (aka The Franklin Brothers).  They were both extremely smart, funny, and accommodating as we invaded their personal space; they were incredibly insightful in helping us to capture what we've come to know as our "signature" sound (bright and resonant acoustic guitars, clear and clean vocals and harmonies) with a minimum of effects and/or "funky junk", and all in ONE TAKE!

OK, maybe not ALL in one take...

We feel that, if you haven't heard us yet, this will give you an honest representation of who we are and what we do; what you hear is what you get!

"I feel like a number..."-Bob Seger (1981)

This is a test of the Visitor Number System.  This is ONLY a test:

As a general rule, websites like this one install these Visitor Number Systems (VNS) as a way to quantify site traffic.  This Visitor Number does not, in any way, reflect our opinion of the visitor’s worth; it’s not your fault that you’re not Number One.  In fact, you may be Number One – just not here.  It’s not that we don’t like you or anything, it’s just… well, not everyone can be Number One.  That’s the sad truth of it.  So, take whatever Visitor Number you have been given with a “grain of salt” (whatever THAT means) and… well, I don’t know… try playing that number in tonight’s Lottery.

Hey, you never know...

This concludes this test of the Visitor Number System; please enjoy your visit.
