Actually we’ve been considered a “green”, environmentally-friendly band since our inception, although we never really thought about it until recent events (coupled with the fact that EVERYONE is jumping on the GREEN bandwagon as of late) made us take a step back and look at how we might be doing our part for the environment...

 We use Ovation acoustic guitars which (as they are made largely of composite materials) use less wood than traditional acoustic and/or electric guitars;

We are a duo, which means less people on stage… which means less carbon dioxide being given off when we sing;

As a duo, we have less equipment to move – which in turn means we can use a smaller means of transportation to get our gear to the show (often in one small SUV) so we use less gasoline;

We do not use standard guitar amplification during our show, so we use less electricity than a full band;

If the power goes out completely, we'll still be able to perform our show as if nothing has happened... ask some other bands if they can do that;

For some (soon to be mostly all) shows we advertise with a laminated, re-usable flyer, so we use less paper.

You may ask yourselves how you can do your part while enjoying our shows - and we've come up with a few ideas:

Get your friends together and carpool (the added benefit to this is that you can also arrange for a Designated Driver) - you'll use less gas;

When you order a refill of your favorite "adult beverage", ask your server to please rinse and re-use the same glass - they will use less water and energy because they'll be using the dishwasher less;

Ask clubowners in your immediate area (within 20 miles of where you live) if they've heard about FlipSide yet - if they haven't, TELL THEM about us!  You'll use a lot less gasoline coming to our shows if we're playing closer to YOU!

Thank you for helping us to do our part for the environment... hey, we may not be saving the salamanders, but we all have to start out with baby steps, right?
